Our efforts are intentional, deliberate, and a fundamental part of the everyday expectation for working at Navos.About the PositionThe Social Services Coordinator completes social service assessments, provides continuous psychosocial assessment and is actively involved in the interdisciplinary treatment planning process. The Social Services Coordinator will work as part of a multidisciplinary team serving adults in an involuntary inpatient psychiatric hospital located in West Seattle. Essential Duties & Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Active in evaluating medical necessity criteria for treatment and legal criteria for involuntary treatment holds.
Complete social service assessments, provides continuous psychosocial assessment and to be actively involved in the interdisciplinary treatment planning process.
Evaluate patient needs for shelter, funding and outpatient treatment and provides active discharge planning in conjunction with the treatment team and existing community providers.
Provide patient and family education regarding the patient's treatment and discharge planning needs.
May provide individual and group treatment; Active in evaluating medical necessity criteria for treatment and legal criteria for involuntary treatment holds.
Follows organization infection control policies and procedures. At risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Knowledge of principles and techniques of group and individual therapy and experience providing same; understanding of principles and methods of intervention.
Able to represent the facility to the community in a professional manner; able to communicate with families and outside agencies with clarity, sensitivity and tact.
Familiar with the Washington Administrative Code and professional standards governing the treatment of mentally ill patients.Skills, Education, & Experience:
M.S.W. Required
Active WA State licensure or Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration (or ability to obtain before hire).
Experience in inpatient settings preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
